The Financial Management Group (FMG) provides financial, tax and treasury services to all areas of Macquarie. The group is focused on providing strategic analysis and advice to Macquarie's businesses and senior management, managing Macquarie's funding, liquidity and capital position, ensuring Macquarie continues to meet regulatory and compliance obligations and managing Macquarie's corporate communications and investor relations.

The function within the group is focused on three key outcomes:

  • managing the Macquarie balance sheet and profit & loss optimally and strategically
  • adding value to Macquarie's senior management and its businesses by providing advice and analysis that is strategic, timely, accurate and comprehensive
  • ensuring Macquarie continues to meet the obligations within its regulatory and compliance framework

You will be involved in the continuous improvement of the end-to-end business and operational environment. This will typically involve identification, design, testing, training, implementation and support of:-
  • New and existing FMG-relevant systems and processes
  • Regional Strategy and people management
  • FMG infrastructure required to support new products, businesses, internal reporting requirements and external reporting jurisdictions

The role will involve a significant degree of interaction with the other Macquarie Group areas; particularly Technology and the various Macquarie Business Divisions.

The role is expected to involve some travel to support the FMG projects globally where needs arise.

The successful candidate will:-
  • 5 - 7 years of financial services experience
  • 3 - 5 years of Project / Consulting / Business Analyst experience, preferably within banking industry
  • Good understanding of project management approach and process within a standard project life cycle
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Detailed-oriented, strong analytic and problem solving skills; ability to learn quickly and solve not clearly defined problem.
  • Positive working attitude and able to work under pressure in a dynamic environment
  • Background/understanding on regulatory change or tax compliance is preferred
