This ESG role encompasses both Responsible Investing and Corporate ESG functions within the Company and includes the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
- Support corporate ESG and sustainability initiatives, including ESG reporting, ratings, policy updates, employee engagement, training, and sustainability programmes.
- Assist in preparing the Company's Annual ESG Report and related disclosures in line with HKEX ESG requirements and relevant reporting frameworks.
- Coordinate ESG ratings, assessments, benchmarking exercises, and applications for sustainability-related certifications or recognitions.
- Monitor ESG regulations, market trends, and best practices, and prepare ESG updates, metrics, and presentation materials for management reporting.
- Conduct ESG research and analysis on portfolio companies, including data collection, ESG assessment, peer benchmarking, and controversy monitoring.
- Support ESG integration into investment research and decision-making, and provide ESG insights to investment teams.
- Assist in stewardship activities, including company engagement, proxy voting analysis, and monitoring ESG developments among portfolio holdings.
- Prepare ESG investment materials, client reporting, due diligence questionnaires, regulatory disclosures, and other ESG-related documentation.
- Maintain ESG databases and work closely with investment teams and corporate functions to support responsible investment and sustainability initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, or related disciplines.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability, responsible investment, asset management, financial services, consulting, or related fields.
- Strong interest in ESG, sustainability, and responsible investment, with a sound understanding of ESG frameworks, ratings, reporting standards, and stewardship practices.
- Familiarity with HKEX ESG Disclosure Requirements, sustainability reporting, ESG assessments, and corporate ESG programmes is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, research, project management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret ESG-related data and derive actionable insights.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with ESG data platforms, VBA, Python, or data visualization tools would be an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English and Mandarin is required; Cantonese is an advantage.
