Specifically, the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is responsible for relationship management with Financial Institutions (FIs) from right across the globe. This includes banks, insurers, asset managers, pension funds and Sovereigns, Supranationals and Agencies (SSA). Our team located in Frankfurt covers the relationship with several FIs across Germany, Austria, Switzerland & Scandinavia.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

This internship will provide you with a unique place to acquire deep insight on financial markets. Therefore, it constitutes a gateway for international opportunities. You will join a multi-cultural team with substantial exposure to banking units across all continents and you will work on projects across our client base:

  • Working with different Bankers and Product Specialists in creating new business opportunities. Participating in client meetings.
  • Preparing and delivering client presentations and supporting other coverage initiatives.
  • Performing financial and strategic business analysis.
  • Participating in the preparation and execution of corporate banking transactions potentially including Global Transaction Banking, Global Debt Financing, Markets Sales Solutions and Corporate Finance / ECM.
  • Monitoring of FIG client portfolio (e.g., pipeline, credit exposures, forecast revenues) and internal reporting (e.g., KYC, risk limit management, business plans).

EXPERIENCE

  • First work experience gained (preferably in activities related to Corporate and Investment Banking) or a sound passion for financial concepts as well as strategic thinking.

EDUCATION

  • Graduated with a Bachelor or a Master’s degree from Business School or Engineering or University, ideally in Finance or Business.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

  • Strong academic track record (preferably in business administration, finance, accounting and/or economics).
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Fluent in English. Good knowledge in German. Spanish language preferred.
  • Motivated, committed, proactive behaviour, strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, team player. Commitment to Banco Santander’s high ethical standards. Our internships last preferably at least six months (with full-time availability), Starting date 1st of June. We are preferably looking for someone willing to stay in the team for a longer period.
