Job Description
The Global Treasury Controllership (GTC) team is part of Regulatory Reporting and Treasury Controllership Team and is responsible for providing comprehensive Treasury and regulatory reporting support covering all Treasury transactions, including cash, investments, debt, derivative, and reverse repos.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain knowledge of accounting, valuation, financial and regulatory reporting of Treasury activities related to AXP and its subsidiaries. The position will involve close interactions with a diverse stakeholder group to conclude on accounting, reporting implications and daily monitoring of results owing to AXP's category change.

The position will involve close interactions with a diverse stakeholder group to conclude on accounting, reporting implications and daily monitoring of results owing to AXP's category change.
Responsibilities
- Manage accounting, valuation, and reporting for Treasury products including fair value measurements across AXP and its subsidiaries.
- Timely and accurate delivery of financial statements forming part of SEC filings (10-K,10-Q, etc.) and reports filed with regulators (Y9C, Y9LP, Y15, 2052a, 009 etc.) and CCAR reporting.
- Perform and review of detailed variance analysis explaining business drivers and market impacts on the portfolio, leveraged by various stakeholders, including Senior Management.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across Global Treasury, SEC Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, GAPA, and Tax to support business objectives.
- Maintain effective governance and control environment, ensuring compliance with SOX, SEC, regulatory, Model Governance, Internal Audit, and internal policy requirements.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and enhancements across valuation, reporting, and control processes.
- Support increasing regulatory reporting environment and other company wide initiatives.
- Continuously challenge the Status Quo and seek opportunities for redesign/automate the processes.
Leads, motivates, and develops a team of professionals to accomplish goals while enhancing colleague engagement, development, inclusion, and diversity. Drive employee engagement, provide career development opportunities for team members and support work/life balance initiatives.
Qualifications
- CA/CPA or equivalent with 6-8 years of experience in finance and reporting.
- Prior experience in SEC/BHC reporting and working with Tier 1/2 banks will be a plus.
- Experience in Treasury/Treasury Controllership and/or knowledge of capital markets is a plus.
- Knowledge/experience related to using various analytical tools such as Power BI/Python is a plus.
- A self-starter, with a proactive approach and a passion to consistently deliver high-quality service and exceed expectations. A quick learner with outstanding problem-solving skills. Continue to challenge the status quo by bringing and implementing innovative ideas for continuous improvement in our process.
- Proven ability to effectively interact and manage relationships with all levels and stakeholders of an organization including senior leadership/officers as well as with external auditors.
- Ability to pivot with agility and navigate ambiguity.
- People Leadership experience is additional plus.
Technical Skills/Capabilities: - High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office; excellent Excel skills.
- Advances MS Office suits (Word, PowerPoint)
- Understanding of business products
Knowledge of Platforms: - Oracle/ Essbase/ BIEE, TMS, Workiva
