Position Description

Reporting to the Head of Sales Trading, the Sales Trader is a member of the Execution team and is responsible for executing clients’ equities orders.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

1. Operate as a Sales Trader depending on experience level.
2. Using Excel and Coding skills build and maintain desk tools.
3. Assist broader team to manage internal workflows and help collate CLSA research and other market intelligence to disseminate to clients.

Key Performance Indicators

1. Designated Trading Representative : develop execution skill set to be able to offer assistance to the team in offering Best Execution to clients – 50%
2. Develop desk tools : use skillset to assist rest of desk to automate tools, monitor client portfolios, monitor trading activity – 20%
3. Teamwork / relationship building : build relationships and rapport with onshore & offshore stakeholders to enable high level of teamwork and communication – 15%
4. Self-development : undertake work (whether reading, time with mentors) to develop, deepen knowledge base & ability – 15%

Requirements

1. Bachelors Degree or above in Finance, Accounting or related disciplines
2. Strong comprehension and communication skills
3. Experience in the industry at the minimum of 2 years
4. Interest in equity and financial markets
5. Strong demonstrated ability to adapt to new systems and technology
6. Strong organizational skills
7. High-level understanding of Microsoft Excel, ability to code/build & maintain complicated spreadsheets
8. Will need to be able to be dedicated and efficient when completing daily tasks as required by internal & external parties
9. Must have the soft skills required to monitor the market and client landscape and to provide information around these market dynamics and trends, client interest in stocks and levels to the rest of the Execution team as well as the Sales desk and Research teams
10. Good command of written and spoken English
