Senior Systems Engineer / Ingenieur

On behalf of a premier client in Basel, Swisslinx is looking for an enthusiastic, proactive candidate to work as a member of a team of senior engineers and architects. As part of this team, primary responsibilities will include the implementation, maintenance, and support of enterprise-class software and services in a hybrid cloud enterprise.

The candidate will primarily be helping with the day-to-day operations of the server infrastructure team and will be asked to assist with various projects the team are running.
A good working knowledge of PKI (Microsoft Certificate Services), Azure Active Directory, and Active Directory is required.

Perfect candidate:

Experienced systems engineer with relevant knowledge and exposure to PKI and Microsoft based solutions (Active Directory, Azure enterprise applications, security features) and scripting languages.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

Include supporting the client in implementing, maintaining, and operating various Microsoft Infrastructure technologies. Be responsible to contribute to the definition of and delivery of services to support various automation and transformation projects across a diverse technology stack, with a focus on Microsoft products:
• Implement and maintain core Windows Server infrastructure services including but not limited to security hardening, automated deployment, patching, lifecycle management.
• Implement and maintain Microsoft Directory Services (AD, AAD, ADConnect, GPO, LDAP, etc.).
• Implement and maintain core PKI services (Microsoft Certificate Services, Azure Key Vaults, Public Certificate services) including upgrading, patching, and general lifecycle management.
• Implement and maintain other core infrastructure services as required.
• Practice Agile and DevOps practices within Infrastructure and Operations.

Must haves:

• Requires at least 5 years building, configuring, and maintaining Microsoft based solutions, including: (****)
Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022)
- Directory Services (ADDS and AAD)
- Active Directory GPO
- Azure Directory Sync and Health services
- Azure Enterprise Applications (SSO, Provisioning)
- Azure Authentication standards (SAML, OAuth, ADFS)
• Requires at least 5 years building, configuring, and maintaining Public Key Infrastructure, specifically based on Microsoft Certificate Services. (****)
• Requires at least 5 years in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python). (****)
• Requires knowledge of Windows security features, and experience in operating system hardening (CIS, NIST, Microsoft) (****)
• Requires knowledge including but not limited to Firewalls, TCP/IP, DNS, Zero Trust, networks and network zoning. (****)
