As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for an experienced Site Reliability Engineer with 4+ years experience to work on a brand new project tasked with introducing an Electronic Trading solution.
This is an initial contract running for 12 months with option to extend on a long term basis based on the project road maps, with start date latest in August 2023. As part of a crucial transformation program our client's business facing team is introducing an Electronic Trading solution and is looking for a skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their cross functional and diverse team.
The SRE will be responsible for ensuring that systems are reliable, scalable, and efficient. They will work closely with development and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain infrastructure, tools, and processes that enable the delivery of high-quality software products.
Responsibilities will include:
• Design and implement reliable, scalable, and efficient systems, tools, and processes that ensure the availability and performance of our software products. • Collaborate with development and operations teams to identify and address performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and other issues that affect system reliability and performance. • Create and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems that provide visibility into the health and performance of our systems and applications. • Automate infrastructure deployment, configuration, and management using tools like Ansible, and Kubernetes. • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans, backup systems, and other measures that ensure the availability and integrity of our data. • Conduct performance testing, capacity planning, and other activities that help us scale our systems to meet business demands. • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to incidents in a timely and effective manner. • Continuously evaluate and improve our systems, tools, and processes to ensure they meet our current and future needs.
In order to be considered for this role, you the successful candidate will have a proven track record implementing ServiceNow and supporting and operating the platform on a day-to-day basis and will help us design and implement new processes and functionalities.
You will possess as many of the following skills as possible:
• Previous experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or a similar role (minimum 4 years of experience) • Strong knowledge of supporting applications running on Windows Servers • Strong knowledge of Windows systems administration, networking, and security • Strong scripting skills in languages such as Bash, Windows Batch or Power Shell • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server • Fluency in English
The following are nice to have but not mandatory:
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible, and Kubernetes is a plus • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools eg Elastic Stack, Splunk, Dynatrace, AWS Cloudwatch • Certification as ServiceNow certified system administrator is an advantage
