Application Support Analyst in a high complex environment with excellent career opportunities for the location in Basel or Zurich

For our client, an international company in the financial sector, who provides first class global support for internal clients and gives you the opportunity to become the group leader of the support team.
Responsibilities:

In this role you will be responsible for ensuring and maintaining business application stability and handle client as well as user problems. In addition to that you will report to the Head of Development Support and speak to customer IT teams as well as business users alongside the internal development and product teams.

You will also take on other responsibilities such as:
  • Understanding the business flows and systems at the customer site
  • 2nd support of applications and their infrastructure as well as coordinating between 2nd and 3rd level teams
  • Tracking and monitoring of all clients hosted platforms
  • Participate and help to improve a structured change management process
  • Testing in UAT and production-like environments
  • Small scale application upgrade, configuration and patching across multiple environments in line with requirements with oversight, QA and sign off for all go live and production changes/upgrades
  • Capacity management and tracking as well as management of audit requests, contributing to departmental and company-wide process improvement
  • Regular communications with an extensive client base to provide status updates, successful solutions as well as documenting all activities for future reference. Responsible for the recording of issues and actions and being able to provide incident and problem management
Your profile:

To cope with the tasks you have experience in working as Support Analyst or 2nd Level Supporter with focus on applications. Ideally you have a university degree in computer science (University of applies sciences, University) or equivalent education/further education in computer science. Alternatively you have several years of equivalent work experience. A valid work permission for Switzerland is mandatory.

In addition, you can demonstrate knowledge of the following points:
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team as well as willingness to take ownership for problem resolution and additional responsibilities where applicable
  • Interest to construtivly participate in technical and functional discussions in order to optimise existing processes and workflows
  • Programming skills (.NET, Java, JavaScript, React.js or React Native) and SQL knowledge are a very big asset
  • Proficiency with Linux environments, good understanding of networking and client/server technology
  • Ideally having worked with and have an understanding of cloud computing and environments, ideally Azure hosting
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in English, German would be an advantage
