For our Legal, Compliance & Risk team within Wealth Management in Zurich we are looking for a

Head of Risk, Wealth Management Switzerland

The Head of Risk Switzerland is responsible for the daily management of the Risk department within the Legal, Compliance and Risk division. He maintains the risk management framework, the risk appetite statement and relevant risk policies of the bank, suggests amendments as required and performs the duties stipulated in these documents.

  • Risk Framework (Definition and monitoring of risk appetite; identification, measurement and mitigation of risk, setting of appropriate limit structures and reporting)
  • Risk Monitoring (control of adherence to set risk limits, exception reporting)
  • Member of the bank's committees as required and appropriate in order to provide the appropriate challenge and oversight required by the function
  • Coordination of Risk Issues with Group Risk and WM Operational Risk, functional reporting lines to Group Risk and WM Operational Risk
  • Support of the first line of defence in all aspects of risk
  • Analysis and reporting of risk MI including internal capital adequacy assessment process (ICAAP), risk control assessments (RCAs), risk events and issues for senior committees
  • Providing the methodology, support and oversight of the Risk and Control Assessments (RCAs) completed by the first line of defence, including those for new products, end to end processes, new clients, and business change including facilitation and leading the RCA process across SCBAG
  • Risk Events & Complaints - Challenge and cause analysis, definition of actions and respective follow-up, reporting, escalation, significant risk event meetings
  • Ad hoc reviews (lead or participation) of business relationships, service offering, processes or other topics of importance to the bank
  • Participation in projects

Required profile
  • Completed university degree, preferably with focus on law/compliance and ideally combined with a further education in Risk Management
  • At least 10+ years of relevant work experience paired with profound knowledge of relevant regulation in terms of general banking regulation, risk related regulation, governance, related laws and regulations.
  • Excellent reputation, leadership skills and being fit and proper for assurance of proper business conduct
  • Specialist knowledge and experience in banking and finance in general as well as in the dedicated area of responsibility
  • Experience in strategy setting and implementation, governance, international wealth management and audit matters (internal and external audit)
  • Familiarity with the Swiss Market and Switzerland's regulatory framework
  • Superior communication skills, both towards clients and employees as well as presentation and data analysis capabilities
  • Fluent in English and German, further languages such as French desirable
