Your mission:
- Design, build, and test new technologies and protocols to enhance the production of a variety of protein types, including therapeutic antibodies, in mammalian expression systems. - Develop novel cell engineering strategies to enhance the function and performance of host cell lines. - Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide technical expertise and contribute to the development of early discovery programs. - Evaluate laboratory processes and continue to identify and validate process improvements. - Evaluate experiment results in an accurate, timely manner and recognize and report relevant test results. - Use independent judgment and knowledge to resolve highly complex problems. - Responsible for authoring technical reports and documentation. - Keep abreast of trends in the field by reading professional journals and attending relevant meetings and seminars. - Mentor and supervise junior researchers. - Maintain excellent communication with all staff and other departments to ensure a supporting team of professionals.
Your background:
- PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, or related field with a focus on cell engineering - Minimum 2 years of experience in molecular biology techniques such as gene cloning, editing and recombination technologies - Extensive hands-on mammalian cell culture expertise with immortalized cells - Expertise in methods to alter cellular physiology to enhance protein production - Demonstrated hands-on experience with various transgene delivery systems - Fluency in English (verbal and written) - Ability to work independently and in a team environment - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills - Independence in driving research activities, including the design, execution, and analysis of experiments - Working knowledge of protein production, HTS-scale cell culture and cell-based tool generation - Strong record of collaboration and cooperation in cross-disciplinary teams
