The Solvency II team at Zurich is business partner to the Zurich's European entities with regard to the Solvency II regulation. The team:

  • Provides expertise and support on the interpretation of the Solvency II requirements, capital modelling, scenario modelling and regulatory reporting;

  • Maintains and develops an in house tool to calculate the capital requirements according to the Solvency II Standard Formula and to produce the regulatory reports for all the European entities of the Zurich Group, with over 200 users across Europe.

As part of our Solvency II Team, you will be responsible for the interpretation of some of the regulatory requirements and their implementation in the relevant processes and tools to calculate the Solvency II Standard Formula and produce the Quantitative Reporting Templates. You will work closely with several business stakeholders in Zurich and in Europe and with the software developers of the Solvency II team located in both Zurich and Bratislava. You will act as an interface between the business owners, the software developers and the users in implementing regulatory changes and process optimization requirements into the Solvency II tools. You will also provide support to the users on scenario modelling and forward looking modelling of the Solvency II available and required capital.

We are looking for a highly motivated and talented fast learner to join our strong team, and, following a scrum (agile) development methodology, support our users in calculating the Solvency II capital requirement and submitting the Solvency II quantitiative reports.

Your Role

As a Solvency II Business Analyst (m/f) your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Collecting business requirements and translating them into agile "user stories"

  • Implementing technical specifications and testing prototypes

  • Collaborating closely with the business stakeholders at the headquarter and in the European entities of the Group

  • Supporting the stakeholders with the interpretation of the regulation and with modelling expertise

  • Collaborating closely with the software developers inside the team and, in some cases, acting as a developer

  • Advising on scenario modelling and forward looking modelling of available and required capital

  • Testing of the correctness of the implementation

Your Skills and Experience

As a Solvency II Business Analyst (m/f) your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • University degree in Mathematics, Actuarial, Statistics, Physics, Computer Science, Numerical Analysis or equivalent

  • 5 or more years of work experience in related field, ideally in the risk modelling area.

  • Good understanding of algorithmic methods in the areas of probability, statistics, econometrics or actuarial modelling

  • Coding experience in at least two programming languages such as R, S-Plus, Python, Matlab, VBA, Java, C#, C/C++

  • Willingness and desire to work in R

  • Experience in an agile framework (e.g. Scrum, Kanban) is a plus

  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills

  • Being able to understand complex problems and strong problem solving attitude

  • Strong English language skills (written and spoken)
