Venture Investment Manager, Biotech / Medtech Series A-B across Europe, Zurich, Switzerland.

About our client

Our client is a single family office based in Zurich, making direct investments into fast-growth companies in life sciences and digital technologies. Active for over a decade in venture capital with a portfolio of 30+ companies, and a few successful IPOs already and more in the pipeline, their team is currently looking to expand by hiring an Investment Manager who will invest in series A and B rounds of biotech and medtech start-ups. The role encompasses sourcing, executing and managing both existing and future investments across Europe. What the job involves

• Build up and manage a network of entrepreneurs, co-investors, and advisors to source opportunities all across Europe
• Lead the investment process: from due diligence to financing structure and term sheet negotiation, through closing
• Active portfolio management: advise start ups at various stages of their lifecycle: (pre)clinical trials, go to market, distribution and scaling up
• Identification of potential exit routes and partners, deal set up and governing processes

Who we are looking for

• Strong academic background with an advanced degree in a life science/medicine-related discipline
• Prior experience with life science/pharma companies (strategic consultancy, business development, commercial/marketing role, clinical development, CSO in a start-up), and/or prior venture capital experience
• Analytical thinking combined with a hands-on business approach
• Entrepreneurial mind-set, self-driven and able to work independently
• Fluency in English is essential; any other languages are helpful. The role is based in Zurich with travel as necessary
