Full Stack Developer
Job Description

Location : Edinburgh, Hybrid.

In this position, you'll be based in the Edinburgh offices for a minimum of three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for some of your working week. If you have a remote location recorded in Fusion this arrangement will continue to be honoured if you are successful in your application, provided that
  • You have a formal accommodation due to a disability, medical or legal reason that enables you to work remotely
  • You're a redeployment candidate who is under notice of redundancy
  • You were moved to a remote contract as your office closed, and you don't live near any of our current offices

We give you a world of potential

We're looking for a Full Stack Developer who enjoys working in a team of developers, testers and business analysts to build high-quality software solutions.

You will have experience designing, developing, testing, and delivering new features while continuously enhancing existing applications and tools.

You will also be comfortable supporting and maintaining existing systems, assessing the impact of changes, troubleshooting issues, and implementing effective resolutions.

A role you will love

You will be joining a collaborative team where you'll have the opportunity to build impactful software solutions, influence technical decisions, and work with modern technologies across the full development lifecycle.

You'll partner with stakeholders to solve real business challenges, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and grow your skills alongside experienced engineers in a supportive and knowledge-sharing environment. Your ideas will be valued, your development supported, and your work will make a meaningful difference.

Other key responsibilities include:
  • Apply technical knowledge and expertise to design, build, test and deploy changes to applications and underlying frameworks to deliver business value, meet stakeholder expectations and avoid creating technical debt.
  • Apply knowledge of standards, policies and organisational structure so that you can work both independently and collaboratively within your team and with key stakeholders.
  • Provide informal guidance and share knowledge with colleagues to enable them to contribute to the team's objectives.
  • Ensure the quality of tasks, services and information provided by your team through the quality of your own work and the support you provide to others - to ensure that your team delivers high-quality, maintainable software which adheres to internal standards and policies.
  • Support the evaluation and resolution of technical challenges and blockers to minimise their impact on the team's delivery and/or supported products.
  • Embrace and support improvements and innovation in technologies/practices within your team that would benefit the business e.g. efficiency in the software development process or improved customer experience.
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to: share knowledge and ideas; provide updates; influence; challenge; and take on feedback.

What will you bring to the role?

We're looking for a passionate and skilled Full Stack Developer who combines strong technical expertise with a collaborative mindset. You'll be someone who enjoys solving complex problems, delivering high-quality software, and working closely with others to create solutions that make a real impact.

Other key skills required for the role include:
  • An experienced React, NextJs, .NET (C#) and SQL developer.
  • Proven track record of application development and support within an enterprise context.
  • Familiarity with working in an Agile development and/or DevOps environment, embracing the adoption and continuous improvement of practices including (but not limited to) automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and practices for design, build, test and deployment.
  • Collaborates and communicates well, builds great working relationships, influences others, challenges effectively and responds well to challenge from others, shares information and ideas with others, has good listening skills.
  • Has a strong work ethic and can effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Curious and continuous learner - investigates, interprets and grasps new concepts.
  • Self-motivated and can use own initiative to work with limited guidance to implement innovative solutions.
  • Pays attention to detail, finds root cause and takes a rigorous approach to problem solving.
