Team Overview
The UK Decision Services team delivers software solutions that help banks, building societies, retailers, and other financial services organisations assess credit risk and make informed lending decisions.
Using data from credit reference agencies and other sources, the team designs, configures, and supports decisioning solutions that enable clients to deliver fast, compliant, and accurate outcomes for their customers.
This role reports to the Manager, Technical Consultant.This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
- Support the design, configuration, and delivery of decisioning software solutions for financial services clients.
- Translate business requirements, solution designs, and credit risk strategies into automated decision logic, rules, workflows, and system configurations.
- Use credit bureau data and client requirements to support the delivery of effective credit risk and lending strategies.
- Perform testing and data validation activities to ensure solutions are configured accurately and perform as expected.
- Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including investigating issues, identifying root causes, and assisting with resolution.
- Contribute to business, functional, and technical documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in meetings with internal teams, clients, and third-party partners to support successful project delivery.
- Provide progress updates and collaborate with project stakeholders.
- Support solution implementation, issue resolution, change requests, and post-production activities.
- Follow software development and delivery best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Knowledge And Experiences
- Experience working in a software development, technical configuration, systems support, or solutions delivery environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues and identify effective solutions.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into logical software configurations or decisioning rules.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A degree in Science, Mathematics, Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- A willingness to learn, develop new skills, and build expertise in decisioning technologies and credit risk solutions.
Required Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
- Basic understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) or other data analysis techniques used to query, interpret, and validate data.
- Experience with software configuration or working with business rules, workflows, or system-based solutions.

- Knowledge of programming or scripting languages such as Python, Java, JavaScript, C, or Lua.
- Familiarity with software testing tools and methodologies.
- Experience working with decisioning, rules-based, workflow-driven, or credit risk systems.
- Exposure to financial services, lending, credit risk, or decision management environments.
