Project Accountant

Key Responsibilities:  

• Reporting into the Operational Readiness Product Owner as the IFRS Project Accountant
• Supporting Operational Readiness activities such as defining the working day timetable, target operating model and processes and controls.
• Developing the chart of accounts, ledger posting and IFRS disclosures
• Assist in developing an IFRS to GAAP reconciliation process
• Assist in developing KPI’s and any other financial performance measures
• Other adhoc tasks as required by the project

• Ability to see the big picture while ensuring that details are not overlooked in delivery
• Ability to make recommendations for improvements to processes and outlining potential solutions to challenges faced withing the project.  
• Ability to work at both detailed and summary level  
• Strong communication skills  both verbally and in writing
• Ability to work under pressure, and to tight deadlines.  

Knowledge and Experience  

• Qualified general insurance accountant – ACA/ACCA/CIMA
• Experience of IFRS 17 and other regulatory accounting standards
• Experience liaising with third party consultancies
• External audit experience either as part of an audit team or as part as a finance team
• Agile delivery / project delivery
