CCB - Treasury Controller - Associate
Treasury is a function within the Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) Finance organization that supports senior leadership in actively managing their balance sheet, Capital and Risk Weighted Assets (RWA), Liquidity, Asset & Liability Management (ALM). The CCB Treasury Controllers team is responsible for ensuring the overall integrity and validity of Treasury financials and controls, communicating CCB views of quarterly forecasts and actuals and annual budget/mid-year reporting. It is a unique and critical mix of reporting, analytics and project management in an ever-changing regulatory environment

The Associate position will join the CCB RWA & Capital Controllers team, focusing on:
  • Perform analytics related to FTP, liquidity, capital, balance sheet optimization, pricing / valuation and the competition across multiple retail product types
  • Liaison with lines of business (LOB) Controllers, P&A, Corporate Treasury, CIO Treasury, CCB Treasury Analytics, Capital Management and CFO groups on framework changes, new business initiatives, regulations, and other Corporate and senior management deliverables
  • Validating the CCB retail deposit outflows assumptions in a time of stress for use with the liquidity stress testing purposes
  • Responsible for completing control checks, reconciliations and variance analysis
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives including streamlining of existing process
  • Update liquidity assumptions for on and off-balance sheet exposures.
  • Using updated LIBOR rates and CD spreads to calculate the discount rates needed to determine the fair value of the CD portfolios for all LOBs
  • Supporting the business through analytics in the context of liquidity funding rules, net funding outflows and valuation of deposit products (CDs)
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to design model requirements incorporating business strategy, customer behavior, and macroeconomic drivers in order to achieve multi-purpose model function and best-in class analytics framework
Working in CCB Treasury Controllers will give the successful candidate the opportunity to work in an area of the Firm that covers the spectrum of asset classes & financial/banking products. The position offers visibility into various products across the bank as well as the unique opportunity to understand firm initiatives from a broad perspective. There is extensive partnership with colleagues within the various lines of businesses and Corporate functions.

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in finance or accounting within financial services
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or other technical field
  • Relevant experience in a related finance, or treasury function
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel & PowerPoint in particular - i.e. use of pivot tables, macros, PitchPro, etc.
  • Ability to translate data into concise, insightful, and actionable recommendations
  • Ability to find relationships and identify patterns in large datasets and to see business implications of findings
  • Control mindset, strong judgment, professional maturity, strong work ethic, proactive, has the courage to ask the tough questions and challenge the status quo and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and partnering skills, ability to take ownership and work independently as well as a good team player
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Control/efficiency mindset and drive to challenge and change
  • Adaptable to change and ambiguity in the work environment
  • Knowledge of retail banking and products a plus
  • Knowledge of Essbase would be an added advantage
