Barclays' co-head of FX trading left for Citi. His juniors are doing fine
Jerry Minier may have gone as the co-head of FX trading from Barclays, but all appears to be well. Despite his disappearance, the bank had a fine time at the Euromoney FX awards.
Barclays won this year's Euromoney awards for being the world's best bank in FX sales, the world's best bank in FX Forwards and the best bank for FX Options.

Last year, Barclays was merely the best bank for FX Algos and FX Real Money Clients. This year seems to be a step-up.
The array of Euromoney accolades comes despite Minier's resignation for Citi in late August. He joined from Goldman Sachs in 2020.
In Minier's absence, other members of his team received Barclays' various trophies. They included Luci Lawrence, the co-head of institutional FX sales for EMEA and Harold Roso, a flamboyant FX forwards trader who made managing director at Barclays three years ago. Insiders say Roso is the next generation of trading talent at the British bank.
Barclays did not, however, win Euromoney's overall award for the world's best bank for FX. That prize went to Deutsche Bank, which hired ex-Morgan Stanley Ollie Jerome to run its own FX business last year. Insiders say Deutsche Bank places particular emphasis on winning the Euromoney survey after spending long years in the Euromoney FX wilderness.
While the survey is well respected in the industry, not everyone pays attention to it. "It's like a children's sports day," declares one observer. "Everyone wins at least something and gets one Perspex paperweight to ensure the price of the awards dinner is justified."
Despite its detractors, appearing in the survey can be a career boost. "Roso is a very talented trader," observes one Barclays insider, who says he is also known for wearing a bow tie. "- Hedge funds will be after him."
