Middle Office Fixed Income

Our client manages and governs a key control environment that supports the day-to-day trade life cycle for portfolio management teams across APAC markets. In this role, you’ll collaborate across internal teams including portfolio management, trade support, legal & compliance, operations, technology, and State Street IMS (back office), while also engaging with external parties such as brokers, custodian banks, and third-party trading platforms to resolve issues and support enhancements. Your contribution is vital to operational excellence, accurate reporting, and risk control across the full trade workflow.

Role Overview:

This role sits within the Middle Office function and helps ensure trade processing controls, confirmations, reconciliations, and reporting are completed accurately and on time—supporting portfolio management teams across APAC.

Key Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of work experience in the investment management or financial service industry
• Direct work experience in Middle Office/Trade Support
• Knowledge of APAC markets
• Product knowledge across processing and settlement of financial products (Fixed Income, Forex, Derivatives and Equities)
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills
• Strong reading, written and verbal Mandarin communication skills (a plus)
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
• Thoughtful, ethical approach with strong judgement and decision-making
• Self-motivated problem-solving mindset and strong team orientation
• Experience with MS computer applications, Bloomberg trade order management systems, and matching utilities (preferred)

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform block trade confirmations in STP or on paper versus broker confirms
• Monitor sensitive trade settlements and act as escalation point to State Street IMS in fails resolution
• Research and resolve daily inquiries from internal and external groups
• Coordinate onboarding and manage access to relevant trading platforms and applications
• Prepare and distribute daily trade activity and end-of-day reports
• Perform daily equity position and market value reconciliations
• Monitor APAC regulatory trade reporting and resolve late trades to prevent regulatory breach
• Assist in monthly metrics reporting and work with back office to resolve identified risk items
• Support projects to enhance the operational environment and develop efficiencies in daily workflow
• Develop and analyze internal trade flow metrics and recommend process improvements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university (Economics or Finance major preferred)
• 3+ years of work experience in the investment management or financial service industry
• Direct Middle Office/Trade Support experience and knowledge of APAC markets
• Strong English communication skills
• Ability to work onsite
• Flexibility with shift arrangements to support APAC markets and Singapore holidays

Nice to Have (Optional):

• Bloomberg trade order management systems and matching utilities experience
• Mandarin communication skills
