Business Analyst (Financial Messaging SWIFT)

Location: Basel, Switzerland
Start Date: October 2026
Contract: 12 months contract +
Workload: 100% (hybrid set-up)
 
Key Responsibilities

• Support and enhance financial messaging solutions within a banking environment
• Lead business analysis activities, translating business needs into functional and technical requirements
• Support service bureau, outsourcing, insourcing, and SaaS migration initiatives, including business case preparation and vendor evaluation
• Analyse and improve business processes across financial messaging, trading, and back-office functions
• Coordinate UAT, support delivery of system changes, and contribute to automation testing strategies
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, technology teams, architects, and external providers in an Agile/Kanban environment

Required Background

• 5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst supporting financial messaging applications in banking
• Proven experience with service bureau migrations, outsourcing, and/or insourcing projects
• Strong track record delivering large, business-critical transformation initiatives
• Solid knowledge of SWIFT infrastructure, services, and financial messaging processes
• Familiarity with post-trade and back-office operations
• Strong requirements gathering, process analysis, stakeholder management, and communication skills
• Experience with UAT coordination and working in Agile/Kanban delivery environments

• Knowledge of SWIFT standards, Bottomline, IBM MQ, APIs, ISO 20022, JSON, or FpML
• Experience with reconciliation, transformation, and sanctions screening tools
• Exposure to Treasury Management Systems (e.g., Findur)
