Data Scientist 80% vacancy for our Zurich based client in the Banking sector.
Your tasks:
- Redesign the current Client Risk Rating model into a more granular scoring framework.
- Develop a points-based risk scoring engine for KYC attributes with clear and interpretable weighting.
- Apply statistical and machine learning methods suitable for regulated environments, such as logistic regression with WOE or tree-based models.
- Define, test and calibrate scoring bands with transparent thresholds and justifiable breakpoints.
- Build reproducible Python pipelines for scoring, backtesting and sensitivity analysis.
- Support validation, documentation and handover to downstream Compliance and Financial Crime stakeholders.
Your experience/knowledge:
- At least 7 years of professional experience in quantitative data science and statistical modelling within banking, asset management or fintech.
- Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or Quantitative Finance.
- Strong Python skills for data science, including modular design, exception handling, profiling and test-driven development.
- Hands-on experience with pandas, NumPy, scipy, scikit-learn, statsmodels, and either PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Strong SQL experience, particularly with large datasets and Oracle.
- Language skills: English
