Utilising deep technical knowledge, this role is responsible for delivering high-quality analytical data that underpins the development, investment, and delivery of renewable energy projects, including onshore wind, solar PV, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

The role spans all project lifecycle stages (Initiation → Feasibility → Development → Definition & FID → Execution → Operations) and provides data-driven support across energy yield assessment, commercial viability, system integration, and portfolio optimisation.

The Energy Yield Analyst works closely with Development, Engineering, Commercial, and Investment teams to inform key decisions relating to project selection, design optimisation, investment cases, and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Energy Yield & Resource Analysis

* Develop and maintain energy yield models for:
o Onshore wind (wind resource, wake losses, turbine performance)
o Solar PV (irradiance, degradation, performance ratios)
o BESS (dispatch profiles, duration optimisation, revenue stacking) * Assess long-term generation forecasts (P50 / P75 / P90 scenarios)
* Analyse losses, curtailment risk, and grid constraints
* Lead selection of technology configurations and layout optimisation

Commercial & Investment Analysis

* Manage Financial Model inputs including:
o Energy production assumptions
o Degradation profiles and availability assumptions
o Capture price and market assumptions * Conduct sensitivity analysis (power price, curtailment, performance)

* Benchmark project performance against market data and prior portfolio assets

BESS Strategy & Optimisation

* Model BESS operational strategies including:
o Arbitrage and peak-shifting
o Ancillary services (frequency response, balancing) * Assess optimal system size, power/energy ratios, and duration
* Analyse co-location benefits with wind/solar assets (e.g. grid export optimisation)
* Work with Project on evaluation of revenue stacking opportunities and risks

Data Analysis & Modelling
* Build, maintain and manage analytical tools and models (Excel, Python, or equivalent)
