Senior Finance Assistant



Our client, a growing and ambitious business, is looking for a
Senior Finance Assistant to join its finance team on 12-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of key accounting processes, support international entities, and contribute to the continued development of the finance function.




Key Responsibilities

• Support the preparation of group management accounts.


• Deliver accurate month-end close processes, including accruals, prepayments, deferred income, and other journals.


• Review balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies across multiple entities.


• Reconcile intercompany transactions and prepare VAT returns.


• Liaise with external accountants and advisors across different territories.


• Provide support across transactional finance activities, including invoice processing, payment runs, accruals, and revenue reconciliations.


• Assist with the year-end audit and act as a key contact for finance-related queries.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of month-end processes, including accruals and prepayments.


• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations and VAT returns.


• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.


• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.


• Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders.


• Proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to support across all areas of finance.


• Good Excel skills and experience using finance systems.
