A leading enterprise is seeking an experienced Identity & Security Enterprise Architect to play a pivotal role in a major Digital Identity transformation program. This is a unique opportunity for a senior architect who combines enterprise architecture expertise with deep technical knowledge across identity, access management, governance, and security architecture. You will provide strategic architectural leadership while acting as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and specialist consultants.
Your new role
You will support a significant Digital Identity transformation initiative focused on modernising identity processes, governance, privileged access management, and access management capabilities. Working closely with consultants, engineering teams, and architecture leadership, you will provide independent architectural guidance, validate proposed designs, and ensure solutions align with enterprise objectives.The successful candidate will be capable of operating at both strategic and technical levels-challenging architectural designs, engaging deeply with engineering teams, and ensuring enterprise-wide coherence across the technology landscape.
Key Responsibilities

• Represent the Enterprise Architecture function across identity and security domains.
• Assess and validate identity, security, and access management architectures from both technical and enterprise perspectives.
• Provide independent challenge and guidance to specialist consultants and vendors.
• Ensure alignment between identity, IGA, access management, PAM, security architecture, and broader enterprise strategies.
• Translate operational and engineering knowledge into actionable architecture outcomes.
• Participate in architecture governance, design authority reviews, and strategic planning processes.
• Develop and maintain architecture artefacts, standards, and decision records.
• Support the ongoing evolution of architecture through both discovery and execution phases.

What you'll need to succeed
Required Experience & ExpertiseEnterprise Architecture

• Extensive enterprise architecture experience across complex environments.
• Strong understanding of architecture governance, standards, roadmaps, and target-state planning.
• Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and consultants.
• Experience working across multiple technology domains including security, integration, data, and identity.

Identity & SecurityDeep expertise across:

• Microsoft Entra ID, Identity Providers (IdP), Single Sign-On (SSO), federation, and Conditional Access.
• Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) platforms such as SailPoint, Saviynt, or Entra ID Governance.
• Access Management design, authentication patterns, and access models.
• Privileged Access Management (PAM), including CyberArk, Delinea, or similar technologies.
• Identity lifecycle management, provisioning, role and entitlement design.
• Security architecture aligned to Essential Eight and Australian regulatory requirements.
• Identity and security integrations across modern cloud and enterprise environments.
