If you work in technology for Deutsche Bank in Germany, there's a new man to know: Dirk Pietrzyk.
Bernd Leukert, Deutsche's new head of technology and innovation, has just promoted Pietrzyk as head of strategy execution for Deutsche's technology division, based in Frankfurt.
Pietrzyk joined Deutsche in 2010 from Mercedes Benz Bank, where he was CIO. He previously worked with Sewing as head of retail change finance programmes.
As Deutsche focuses on cutting costs by investing in technology, getting technology right has never been more important. Last year, Deutsche recruited Neal Pawar as its new chief technology officer in July. It also added Bernd Leukert from SAP as a board member responsible for technology, data and innovation. Sewing is planning to invest €13bn in technology renewal, whilst also cutting technology costs by €200m.
Pietrzyk will be in charge of implementing Deutsche's new technology strategy globally, based out of Frankfurt. A graduate of Hochschule Furtwangen University, he describes himself as a 'bridge between finance and IT' who turns PowerPoint presentations into 'real-life solutions.'
Pietrzyk isn't Deutsche's only change in senior IT staffing. The bank also just recruited Gil Perez as head of strategy and innovation, based in Palo Alto, California. Perez previously spent eight years at SAP, with Leukert.
